I knew I shouldn't have looked,
Or even taken a step
To avail myself of the position.
But I did,
and now I was there.
Viewing that landscape
I longed for,
The portrait of perfection.
The picture of the life I wanted
But couldn't have.
Why I'd agreed to go and
Be in that company.
It was agony.
