555 Days... The Continuation

Welcome to 555 Days as a Poet by The Crafty Scribe

Back in 2010, I challenged myself to write a poem or a short verse a day, and post it to a blog. 555 Days as a Poet by The Crafty Scribe is the continuation of the experiment.

I gave myself 18 months to recover from the original daily blog postings, and now, I am ready to start it all over again. Although as I was beginning in the middle of the year, I thought 6 months was too short a time after my last experience.

"If I could complete a year of poems, how about 18 months?" I thought. I worked out that would be 549 days. I could have rounded it up to 550 to included New Years Day 2014, but then I thought I'd go 5 better... to 555 days.

Why 555? According to many spiritual teachers, the number 555 is a sign of change and the flow of energy. I thought it related to the blog. I spent a year writing a poem every day, then rested for 18 months. Now the tide has turned. It's time to begin the flow of words in my life again.

I'm not a trained poet, just an enthusiastic scribe wanting to create something new each day. I don't truly know my stanza from my meter, but I hope to improve and get my poetic license someday! Expect the weird, the strange and the inner workings of the Crafty Scribe's mind. Let's ride the waves once more.

Please pass on the blog address to all your verse and lyrical loving friends. I hope you will join me, and read my daily scribbling.

"Beyond Above" (Entry 470)

Drift away to special places.
Filled with all familiar faces.
Held in warmth, caressed with love.
This must be Heaven above.

"Beyond Sense" (Entry 466)

I drink of dance.
I cry at clouds.
I laugh at impossible dreams.
I caress at thoughts.
I listen to stars.
I look beyond what it seems.

I watch the whispers.
I talk to mountains.
I taste at new-formed ideas.
I hear the shadows.
I rush to closed doors.
I know it is not as it appears.

"A Crop of Universal Fruition" (Entry 448)

Taste of heavens.
Solar and juicy.
Planets ripen in fruity delight.
(Olive Pluto of different class, but still enjoyed.)
Neptune clustered grape-like, with your moons.
Succulent watermelon Uranus melts on by.
Albedo shine of citrus Saturn,
Tumbled by a honeydewed Jupiter.
Sweet strawberry Mars giggles and glows red in bashful glee.
Earth, round and tasty. Eve's apple, ready for the picking.
Venus, beautiful pear, luscious and plump.
To Mercury's pomegranate. What's important, lies beneath.
All bask in Sun's glory.
A basket of perfection in place, their space. A crop of Universal fruition.

"Dusty Skies" (Entry 408)

Meteor crust
Zoom and thrust
Out and combust
Interstellar dust

.....
Did you watch tonight's Perseid Meteor Shower?

"A Shift in the Universe" (Entry 395)

Shifting sight of new delight.
Conscious state delve deep this night.
Complex visions, from places, where?
Transport! Create! Images rare.
Senses pleasure. Freedom found.
I learn your ways, Universe unbound.

"Pilgrims to a New World" (Entry 369)

They knew from the outset, they would never come back,
Although they told family and friends they would,
With stoic smiles and hearty hugs,
But they were told from the beginning,
It was a one way ticket.

Once in a lifetime,
No. That's saying too small.
No one had ever given given this opportunity before.
They were the blessed.
Part of the chosen ones. The elite.

The new youth
Ready to travel further than
Only a few pioneering souls
Who had sacrificed themselves to make
This trip beyond new frontiers possible.

They stepped onto the ship,
With supplies they hoped would last
To set up their new colony.
They viewed the eyes of those gathered to watch them leave,
Knowing they would never see them again.

Their One Way Ticket taking them to their New World.
Once
Pilgrims to America.
Onwards
Astronauts to Mars!

"Rusty Fourth" (Entry 336)

Barren rusty rock.
Was it always as we see?
Breathe fourth. Let us know.

I've entered their haiku competition with a different poem which I'll post here once the deadline expires.

"Universal Air" (Entry 335)

Solar winds breathe as
Universal air rolls on
Rusty dusty rock.

"I. Always." (Entry 299)

I exist,
Amongst the stars,
Soaring through bright blaze of nebula
Secret pockets of folded space.
Beyond the sight of telescope.

I am,
Within the earth.
Unseen fingers wriggle in claggy cold clay.
Invisible toes stretch in mossy peat,
Where the wild world grows.
Caress Earth's surface and feel her breathe.
Go deeper and entwine within her heartbeat.

I live,
In oceans,
in the deep to dwell,
then ride upon the blustered swell,
To land as dew upon a daisy petal
Kissed by fleeting butterfly’s hush.

I survive,
In the air,
Hear my choral rhapsody within the wind,
be carried as dust wherever it blows.

I am there,
Always,
Part of The Universe - my home.

"Let It Begin" (Entry 294)

Energy organic.
No panic.
Let it flow.
Enjoy. Let go.
Be at one.
More to come.
Inhale it in.
Let it begin.

"You are the Centre of the Universe" (Entry 292)

You are an angel from brilliant height.
Pushed positive energy,
you radiate what's right.
We drift to hover in your light.
Catching concentric ripples around the bright,
which is your soul,
which is your might.
From centre waved a pure white,
out further and beyond our sight.
No fight,
or plight.
Just diffraction delight.

"Murder Changes Everthing" (Entry 289)

Murder changes the universe.
An added Numbness to the rhythm.
Language alters.
Becomes lackadaisical
in the word and world.
Incomplete,
after the fact.

The act of killing changes everything.
How?
No going back.
A shift in consciousness.
Don't belittle it,
by saying,
It's part of life's unknown dance.

*******************

In memory of all those lost, and those effected by that loss, due to murder at anytime, anywhere.

Our love and thoughts go out to those today in Boston.

"Manners Matter" (Entry 283)

For world doff its moon at passing meteor,
As distant suns release their heat to warm the unknown.
Universe of manners for it's how we all must turn.
For go against the energy of how it's meant to be.
Chaos ensues with all what's due ending in no matter.

"What is Love?" (Entry 264)

What is Love?
If not the all.
Isn't that why you're meant to fall?

The candle flame, the ghostly shade.
Unruly child ne'er taught to behave.

A heat that freezes, icy depth in sizzled wake.
The razor cuts and skin burns of heartbreak.

Insane laughter that turns joy to tears.
Grief returned and tempered by years.

But all throughout you feel the tender.
The love divine from passion's sender.

The truth of amore in first kiss tasted.
Moments embraced are never wasted.

What is love?
It is all.
Sent by the Universe,
It's Heaven's call.

"Death's Story" (Entry 244)

To see beyond the darkened veil.
To go beyond and bring back a tale.
To know of death and tell its story.
Is to know the Universe in all its glory.

"Momentous Moment of Mystical Bliss" (Entry 195)

She reached the ocean's edge.
The candles held by her companions
reflected on calm silken surface,
joining with those lights of the stars,
who had come out to watch
this momentous single moment of mystical bliss.
She accepted the words of blessings
and, with freewill,
stepped into the water.
She became their sister,
one of the star children.
She was cleansed and energised.

"Remembering It All" (Entry 185)

Humans break up their lives into compartments known as time.
Dividing and segmenting smaller and smaller,
so much so, they forget it all.
What they know as past.

As for me, I can remember everything.
That's if I want to.
I know what has been and what will be,
in this dimension and others,
all that is beyond this trinket of a universe.

It all happens now.
Now! NOW!
So I remember it.
I live it.
I am.
I.

"The Long Way" (Entry 171)

Meander on the slow walk.
A day where you don't need to be any place but
here.
Bask in the laziness of the hours.
Take the long way round to nowhere special.
The best destination in the universe.

"As Above, So In The Deep" (Entry 166)

The world swam into haze,
in the crazy dreams of unaware moments
hooked together in puzzles.
Click!
The ocean parted into darkness.
Alone.
The First.
Spark!
The switch
clicked to the trillion voices
of the stars
which sang like fish
in tropical depths.
